Hospital Policies
Appointment Policy To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
Patient Arrival Policy For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier. For your convenience, drop-off appointments are available. A 'drop off' means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours. Usually we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctor can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done, she will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions. For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We require that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.
Payment Policy At Oviedo Animal Hospital, we know that your pet is a beloved member of your family. We also understand that conversations about medical care and costs can sometimes feel overwhelming. Our goal is to be open, honest, and supportive every step of the way, so you feel informed and comfortable making decisions for your pet. Our team is always happy to talk through treatment options, costs, and any questions you may have - before, during, or after your visit. Whenever possible, we will provide a treatment plan and a cost estimate before beginning care. Estimates are based on your pet's needs at the time and may change if their condition changes or if additional care is recommended. If costs change significantly, we will discuss this with you as soon as possible and get your approval before moving forward. Your consent is required before treatments are performed, except in emergencies where immediate care is necessary to prevent suffering or save a life. Full payment is due at the time services are provided. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and cash. Occasionally, unexpected expenses arise and you might need financing for your pet's care. We are pleased to offer financing through Care Credit. Go to CareCredit.com to apply. Pet insurance is handled by the client. We are happy to provide detailed invoices and medical records to help with insurance claims, but payment for services is due at the time of care.
